Delayed earnings – term used by Shuttestock to describe earnings from high-risk activities, such as referrals. These payments will be withheld, and once qualifying criteria is met, (3-month for new referrals from some countries) will be released to user account and reported in this section. Shutterstock is dedicated to defending our submitters and fighting fraud. To that end, we monitor high risk activities, such as referrals, and maintain a three month probationary period on earnings accrued from these activities.
It also used in cases when Shutterstock successfully recovered money from previously illegally or incorrectly licenced images. Delayed earnings in this context are rare occurence.
